Archi 5.7 Released

Archi version 5.7 is now available to download.

New features, improvements and fixes are listed in the Version History.

Here’s a summary of some of the new features in Archi 5.7.

A preference to highlight the primary selected connection

In a crowded diagram it can sometimes be difficult to see the selected connection. Turning this preference on (Preferences -> Connections) means that the selected connection is highlighted.

“Select Objects of Same Type” context menu action in Views

Right click an object or connection in a View and choose “Select Objects of Same Type” and all objects of the same type will be selected. This might be useful if, for example, you want to change the fill colours of one type of ArchiMate concept or change its type. You can assign a key shortcut to this action if you wish.

An option for incremental tree node display

There’s a new preference in Preferences -> General in the Model Tree section, “Initial number of child elements displayed (0 for all)”. This sets the initial number of child elements that are displayed in the Model Tree. If the number of elements exceeds the given limit, you can click on the “Show next n items from remaining n” node to show more elements. This can improve performance if a folder contains many thousands of child elements. A reasonable limit might be 1000. Set to 0 for no limit (the default).

More key binding support

Key binding support has been added for Expand/Collapse All, CSV Import/Export, XML Exchange Import/Export, and Model Import.

Connection bend point creation and move handles are now more distinctive

Connection bend point handles can be hard to see so these are now larger and the difference between creation and move bend point handles is now clearer.
